About This Place

Located in the heart of Rugby, ND, 3rd St Station is a welcoming bar & grill that offers a delightful twist on classic American fare with a local, inviting atmosphere. Known for its flavorful, comfort food with a hint of inventive flair, this establishment is a go-to spot for both hearty meals and casual drinks.

Step inside and you’re greeted by the warm, small-town charm that perfectly complements the diverse menu. The aromas alone make your mouth water — imagine sinking your teeth into the tender, perfectly seared Teriyaki Steak Tips, glazed with a savory, slightly sweet sauce that dances on your palate. Another crowd favorite are the crispy, golden Onion Rings, a crunchy, flavorful companion to any meal. The menu thoughtfully balances indulgent appetizers like the Breaded Green Beans—a unique and crunchy starter—as well as the creamy, satisfying Loaded Baked Potato.

The lunch and sandwich options bring something for everyone, from the juicy Bacon Cheeseburger bursting with smoky goodness, to the melty, comforting Chicken Melt Sandwich, and the fresh, crisp Oriental Salad with Grilled Chicken that offers a lighter, yet equally delicious choice.

For those craving a substantial entrée, 3rd St Station delivers with generous portions like the impressive 20oz Porterhouse, cooked to juicy perfection, or the tender Ribeye and 8 oz Sirloin steaks that showcase a true mastery of grilling. Seafood lovers will appreciate the Jumbo Shrimp Scampi, fragrant with garlic and butter, offering a sophisticated touch to this classic bar & grill menu.

Beyond the food, 3rd St Station excels in creating an ambiance that feels like a true home away from home. Whether you’re settling in at the full bar or enjoying the sunshine on the patio, the atmosphere is relaxed and lively. As reviewer Kristie Kulzer perfectly sums up, it’s a spot with a “nice small town feel” complete with slot machines and darts to keep the fun going. The staff’s warm welcome and attentive service add to the experience—making each visit memorable.

Patrons like Mr. Moros rave over the “odd flavors of burgers” and the specially made fries that elevate this beyond the typical beer and burger joint, while Shannon Grondahl praises both the food and bartending as “amazing,” emphasizing the care and quality that shine through every visit.

Though some have noted limited menu availability at times, the overall consensus is clear: 3rd St Station is a must-stop destination to savor excellent steaks, creative appetizers, and a genuinely enjoyable dining experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Rugby, this bar & grill offers more than a meal—it delivers a welcoming gathering place that satisfies both the appetite and the spirit.

Their odd flavors of burgers (which are delicious) and their special made that day fries make this more than your average beer and burger joint. A must stop if you're in the area.

Came here for dinner and drinks while in town. Everything was fine although they were out of a lot of food items.

Great food and service! Atmosphere was great, nice small town feel. Had some slot machines, darts, etc. Steaks were amazing along with the garlic bread (I could've eaten a whole loaf!) and loaded baked potatoes. Full bar and a nice patio area. Definitely recommend stopping by!
